5.4 Chino Hills Earthquake
08.05.08
The epicenter was located about 5 miles from our offices. From our 3rd floor location, we experienced the initial jolt, then considerable shaking. Due to excellent earthquake preparedness no damage was experienced, (except for a few frayed nerves).
Being proficient in data management, PNL's Mark Landress framed up these images which show the quakes magnitudes (plus, aftershocks, a plenty) relative to our Brea office.
Safety Content and Safety Check Lists Are Added
06.26.08
We have introduced SafetyMoment.org to our client base via a newsletter. The response has been positive. Feedback suggests that a site which catalogs safety content is much needed.
Over the coming months, we will continue to grow the site mainly via the addition of instructive content.
In addition, we have added a new button for Safety Checklists. One backbone of a safety-1st project culture, is the existence and use of relevant forms.
Client Upload Capability for Safety Videos
05.30.08
As Project Navigator, Ltd. prepares for the formal release of SafetyMoment.org, we are making some last minute touches, including the capability for clients to upload safety videos, which you wish to share with colleagues in the business.
Look for the Upload button soon. We'll monitor how much video sharing goes on, and report back.
Site is Ready for Launch
05.20.08
Project Navigator, Ltd.'s web design team has been working hard on SafetyMoment.org in preparation for a formal release of the site to our clients.
We have been adding "safety themes" (e.g. landfills), which appear on the site as grids over events or scenarios, upon which is embedded safety content, in the form of ppt slides, or video.
PNL's partner in this venture is John Rosengard's ERCI. (John, himself, has been instrumental in defining the vision for this site, and has supplied a good fraction of the seed content).
In the next few months we will be publicizing the existence of SafetyMoment.org to our clients.
Our hope and vision is that clients who require quick access to content for a safety moment in advance of a meeting, will turn to this site for help. In return, we also hope that clients will supply safety content to us, and share safety experiences, thereby growing the value of the site as an online safety portal. (Anyone see the need for a safety "MySpace?")
Finally, to facilitate "safety-experience-sharing," we will be introducing some new features within the next few months, such as (1) an open blog, where users can post, and (2) secure grid pages, where clients can upload their own safety content, but have it password protected, for internal company use only.
Feel free to contact Elizabeth Fontana at efontana@projectnavigator.com, with suggestions.
Regards, PNL's web team.
